“He aroha whakatō, he aroha puta mai”
If kindness is sown then kindness you shall receive - Maori Proverb

Bare Spirit is intended as a small educational site for anyone curious about naturism.

I decided to write and blog about my journey here so you can explore naturism and (hopefully) understand its ideas, whatever your background or experience.

My name is Steve** and I hope you enjoy your time here.

About At Purakaunui Bay, Caitlins, New Zealand

Purpose

The site is independent of any affiliated clubs or organisations and is formed from my own research, experiences, and musings.

Nothing here is explicit. Naturism on Bare Spirit means social, non-sexual nudity, in line with the International Naturist Federation (INF-FNI) and its definition:

“A way of life in harmony with nature, characterized by the practice of communal nudity, with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others, and for the environment.”

This includes:

  • Embracing health and wellbeing, naturally and positively.
  • Self-acceptance and body positivity.
  • Respect for others and the environment.

Location

I live in Aotearoa New Zealand in the South Island where naturist information and community were difficult to find when starting out, at least in my area.

A beautiful place with many naturist friendly beaches and locations. If you are visiting, I recommend checking out the Aotearoa community section for more information.

If you’re tuning in from farther afield, the ideas should still resonate. Welcome! If something here nudges your curiosity or helps you on your naturist journey, you’re very welcome and thanks for reading.
